I kind a missed this game and decided to bring it back to life. If you guess where the quote is from (and maybe who said it) continue the game with a new quote. Don't start a new quote until the previous one is guessed. It has to be a quote from a CC DVD release (no laserdiscs).

Quote: "It's not made for people, it's only good for snakes and funerals"

Since it's the first one a little help is added to this one: It's a quote by a famous German on Cinemascope!

I guess that's Firtz Lang, who hated it when he was forced to shoot Moonfleet in scope.
Is that from the M re-release ?

It's from Le Mépris.

Here's a new one:

"Withdrawing in disgust is not the same thing as apathy."

I'm pretty sure that's from Slacker... don't know the character's name though.

Yes, from Slacker, and quoted by R.E.M. in "What's the Frequency Kenneth" on Monster as "Richard said withdraw in disgust is not the same as apathy," which, like most Stipe lyrics, is hard to discern until you know what you're listening for.

Since vertovfan didn't take his turn, how about:
"We've got lumps of it 'round back."

That would be from The Life of Brian. I can't think of a quote from the collection right now, so I'll leave that up to the next poster.

You knew it was coming:

"Your best! Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen."

AND a slightly harde one because that one's too easy :)

"Don't you see? A real sword will kill you."

I believe it is All That Heaven Allows.

So how about:

"Harness my zebras, gift of the Nubian king."

King of Kings, right? (Not that I've seen it).

Try this one:
"A million Mexicans drink it"

I had to cheat too and therefore can't answer either. Kind a embarrassing considering I’m running a Hip Hop label. I guess that was a hint to others besides being a fact!

Is it from the Magic Flute? Perhaps the Beastie Boys?

If its right my quote is:

"You know what Freud would have said about that dress?"
