It's got to be about the distribution changes, but it's annoying me too and I'm just a Glamazon* Prime convenientist with no HTF connections and no interest in IAMMMMW.

To be fair, the HTF people are just wanting to "give back" to the site by preordering through their link to help the site out. Anyone could already have this pre-ordered through Criterion themselves if they really needed it or anything else (no tax and free shipping on orders over $50...)

But Amazon's cheaper, at least if you get your preorder in early. They generally have it at 30% off to start with, while Criterion offers 20%. Amazon's price then usually goes up after a few days. (That's why not knowing when they are appearing is mildly annoying.)

Plus, I'm in Kentucky so I pay tax either way.

They're on Amazon now if anyone else was watching.

Has anyone had any problems with importcds.com lately? I have two shipments which have not arrived and customer service does not reply... Ordered "Investigation of a citizen above suspicion" today which has not been confirmed as an order.

I had been looking forward to watching some Zatoichi over the long weekend, but when I checked tracking on the B&N order that was supposed to arrive today, I found "An exception in the sorting process has occurred. UPS has taken corrective action." and it is now scheduled to arrive on Dec 2. It appears that after arriving in California, they sent it off to Sylmar instead of my own city. Well, at least they are taking a corrective action! #-o :-k ](*,)

Where does it say it should arrive? My order doesn't mention an arrive by date or anything.

Did B&N give you a tracking number? I had it emailed to me, but it's also listed in my order status on B&N.com.

They've actually updated my order and say that it'll arrive before the end of the day tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm leaving town around noon to go to my parents place... hopefully they drop it off early!

I should have added that my tracking number is a lead balloon.

Criterion Shop won't deliver outside the USA and Canada. That's understandable when it comes to DVDs and blu-rays, but I guess nothing hinders them to ship and sell anything other than that overseas. I have contacted their customer service (mulvaney) and tried to order empty Criterion blu-ray cases from them, but they have twice failed to reply. Am I banging my head on the wall unnecessarily? Don't they serve overseas customers at all?

I'm in France, and was able to buy from Criterion 10 spare cases without any trouble.

I'm not too surprised to see you getting no CS reply from Mulvaney, because I don't think he's handling this kind of request (though he could at least forward it to the right persons). Try this one : orders@criterion.com

It got me through Claire Stiefel who then was able to tell me how much it would cost and what to do (BTW : $27 for 5 cases, $38 for 10, both with shipping fees).

Here is what she told me to do :

"If interested in ordering, you may make this payment via PayPal to store@criterion.com

Please include your name and address in the message field, along with the items you are ordering, and as soon as we receive payment, we'll ship them out to you!"

I got a number of "We're sorry, an error has occurred" messages and even a few "your user name/password is incorrect" messages (even though it wasn't) before I was finally able to get through. Snapped up Tess, Foreign Correspondant, and Jules and Jim, since those are the most likely of my wants to sell out. I'll grab the rest later on when things have calmed down.

This timing seems suspiciously geared toward getting people so excited to load up their carts that they forget that BITWC is barebones.

Also, I'm getting my dad to buy me a million Criterions so that I can be sure to win one of these:
A Golden Opportunity

Twenty lucky customers who shop during this flash sale will find golden tickets tucked into their orders. Those winners will get goodies ranging from Criterion shirts and other swag up to the grand prize: a virtual shopping spree via webcam to the Criterion product closet in our New York City office. Good luck!

I don't see why they'd give a ticket for a t-shirt rather than just include the shirt itself, but I guess that's why I'm not in marketing.

Because of the fun of opening the envelope and finding out what prize you won.

If, like me, you were only really looking for THIEF, I recommend going to DeepDiscount. They have it for sale for 19.99. With shipping, I ended up paying 21.98.

I wonder if they'll let you do it in person if the winner's in NYC.

But Colin, don't forget what happened to the man who suddenly got every Blu-ray upgrade he ever wanted. He lived happily ever after.

When they say Tess is sold out what exactly does that mean? Is it that they were only willing to sell a certain amount for the discounted price and that amount has been reached or has it really sold out and they're going to have to press more discs?
