Criterion is having a Flash Sale over the next 24 hours (less than now): http://www.criterion.com/sale

The "real time dashboard" at the above link is more interesting than it should be.

But more importantly, Gremillon for $22!

Couldn't have come at a worse time for me - I literally want every single release coming out next month, but of course they're not included. Sigh!

To me, this means I can knock out some stuff high on my want list, but not feel bad about not using my BN Membership come July.

Same here. If this sale had been 3/26 instead of 2/26, I'd be spending up a storm.

Hello everyone,

Brand spanking new to this forum. As of two weeks ago I have started earnestly buying Criterion, although I have been buying them over the years too. Like many, I am smitten with the label.

I am, however, saddened and dismayed by the fact they don't ship to the UK. I have been managing to find a few over here at various places. eBay, Amazon etc... but nowhere stock an up-to-date library.

They have just started their 50% off promotion and I can't stand to miss out here. So here's my question: would anyone be willing to receive and forward on a Criterion delivery for me? Obviously, I would be very trusting of you.

Anyway, if anyone could I would be indebted.

Glad to be a part of this community!

Craig

Wow, On the Waterfront and Sansho the Bailiff backordered already. Lame. Looks like I missed out on this one. Just gonna wait for B&N summer sale I guess.

They sell out of the new stuff pretty fast. I had The Man Who Knew Too Much and On the Waterfront in my cart while they went on backorder. Thankfully, it let me place my order with March 20 shipping date.

So once something goes on backorder, the discount no longer applies?

I was there 10 minutes after the sale started but my card was getting declined for no reason! I had to call my bank and until the sorted it out the back-ordered items push my order back almost a month...

Any one know when next 50% off will be? I don't think Criterion gives notice but BN seems to be around the same time.

50% off flash sale is live! The website will be a disaster, of course.

I'm getting an "offline for maintenance" message.

Fortunately, I quickly placed an order for the things I wanted on the "selling out" list, so at least I have those locked it.

When the site does start working again, I would just like to remind everyone to please resist any urge you might have to buy the Madame de... BD.

Yes, just because it's 50% off doesn't make it any better.

Worked fine for me. Spacing out titles I need like this will help the November sale not cripple me financially! Too bad all the releases I'm super-excited about are still forthcoming. If you don't get the Rossellini set, you are a fool. I don't even regret paying eight bucks more for it last week

If you simply must own Madame de... on Blu due to OCD or whatever, consider purchasing it from an individual third-party seller somewhere so that Criterion's sales figures won't pick up on it.

Seriously people, you won't find too many better releases this year. Unfortunately my BD player is out of commission so I only picked up the two eclipse sets I hadn't gotten to yet.

I persisted, and my order went through (as did a second, for the Bergman / Rossellini set, when my gift certificate *also* went through). I may need to buy new shelves again next year.

Totally forgot they had a loyalty program too - when you hit 500 points (i.e. $500 in past spending), you get a $50 gift certificate. Combined with no sales tax for those outside of NY and KY and free shipping (if you order more than $50 at a time), plus Discover's current 5% off online shopping, it really makes the flash sales a better deal than B&N.

Interesting, I just noticed a glitch in my order. The first three I place in cart, then entered coupon code, 19.97 (for blus). Then I added one more (which came up quantity 2, might have "add"-ed it twice), reduced the quantity to 1 (thought it reduced the price to 19.97 (not sure at this point)), hit the submit order button. Order now completed, quantity of 1 for that last added item, but at full price 31.96.

Looks like it's too late to cancel and re-order, order is already "Completed"... These Criterion orders never go smooth for me, but really, right out of the gate?...

(And yes, finally hit 500 points after all these years.)

Yeah, you have to update each time you add an item in.
