I noticed that this time around there were more items on my want list that were available than in past flash sales. I don't know if that's because fewer people knew about the sale or whether possible Criterion allowed for more sales of items not in stock this time around.

Unless they pull what Arrow seems to be doing this month and just ignore their usual sale precedent...

It looks like Boyhood is in-stock now, which might be a good indication there'll be a sale later today.

(McCabe and Mrs. Miller is already on Backorder somehow)

The dvd-edition of McCabe & Mrs. Miller has "add to cart" option but the blu-release does not, that is what is listed as back-ordered.

The dates of release for Boyhood and McCabe are still showing as the same though, so this will be a wait and see if they are included in a forthcoming sale.

Last year's fall sale was on Oct 6th so there is a chance it could be today, but two years ago it was on Oct. 11th, so odds are still a possibility but not a lock that McCabe could slip into the sale.

In the past (though not in the past two sales), titles that were released the following week but were "in-stock" still counted.

I think they like to anchor these around one big release, and Boyhood would certainly fit that bill.

They always tie it to a big release. Either of those films would qualify

My recollection is that the only time in recent memory the sale was not on a Tuesday was in 2014, which was the first time it was well into October. I believe this was held back due to the problem with the original pressing of Eraserhead.

For some strange reason, the release date of all of next week's releases have been changed to Monday, October 17th from the 18th.

Does anybody know how quickly the $50 gift certificates are issued once you reach 500 loyalty points? I'm at 410 right now, so I'm hoping that when the flash sale starts I can place a $100 order and then another one sometime before the end of the sale with the certificate.

If I recall my last one was issued almost immediately after I passed $500

The three releases for next week are now in-stock. I imagine a sale must be coming including these releases either tomorrow or Thursday.

You can totally do that. I've done it twice. The gift certificate code is emailed to you virtually in real time (within a minute or so). Last time I did it I got the gift certificate email before I even got the "order confirmed" email.

Everything on the store now comes up with "will ship in 3 days" rather than the usual "1 day," which usually indicates an imminent sale.

You have to add the code each time you add a new title, or just wait til you've completed your cart FYI

Picked up Chimes at Midnight, McCabe and Mrs Miller, the New World, Night and Fog, and Valley of the Dolls. I guess I could've waited a couple weeks for the BN sale, but I'm getting close to another gift code from Criterion so it'll end up evening out in the next Flash Sale

Picked up McCABE & MRS. MILLER, CAT PEOPLE, and STORY OF THE LAST CHRYSANTHEMUM. BOYHOOD and BLOOD SIMPLE will have to wait, I guess.

The Loyalty Points number (shown in green) on the store's My Account page is a running total, correct? That number shows the total points that have accrued over time, regardless of any Gift Certificates that have been issued?

Right. The points in below the green number tell you how many points away you are from the next 500 point milestone

Once again, here's a heads up that for whoever doesn't already own it, the Dual Format of Foreign Correspondent is still available at Criterion.com .It looks like the Dual Format of Breathless + Nashville quickly soldout already (are missing from the website).

Remember that every remaining dual format title is likely to be separated at some point.
