I believe they mentioned that as one they were still in the stages of acquiring, but one that looked likely.
Depending on how much stock you put into the phantom pages, Todd Haynes has had one for a while.

Oshima at ATG dual format

I'll keep guessing this until it gets shot down or happens.

If anything, they should discontinue the current disc of Sólo con tu pareja and include it as a bonus feature on Y Tu Mamá También.

Why would they do that? I'm sure Criterion is bringing in laundry bags of money on the Cuaron name alone.

Even better: discontinue the current disc; not reissue it as an extra feature; reallocate the spine number to a better film (considering you could probably find one by doing a completely random IMDB search, this is the easiest part of the equation), and try to pretend that they never released it in the first place.

It'll probably be easier to just do what they did with The Seventh Seal/Bergman Island and Grey Gardens/The Beales of Grey Gardens, and just keep the DVD in production while double-packaging the two films on the BD release.

Is there a typical timespan between when Criterion puts a film on iTunes and when they physically release it? Because Chaplin's LIMELIGHT is featured on their iTunes page, and I REALLY want to see them release it soon.

They have to give the designers time to come up with a really awful cover

Clearly the cover will be a lime with a little glowing mustache on some MS paint background.

Any rumored boxsets? I know the Wenders one came up a few years ago, and the Koker trilogy, but I vaguely remember others were discussed.. I'm asking about primary label stuff, not Eclipse or blu upgrades- the Bergman/Ross. and Pasolini were two long-running ones that finally came to fruition.

EDIT: and the Apu trilogy is a certainty..

Why have early Fellini not been released on Blu Ray? I vitelloni, La Strada and Notti di Cabiria would make a great Blu Ray box.

I'm guessing Barton Fink is number 699, and got pushed back for the week of the Oscars at the last minute

I wonder if A Brighter Summer Day would really go into a box set like the one that is about to be released? It seems like a standalone event release to me.

I feel like if they were going to release any of them as standalone they would have started with Touki Bouki considering its recent climb up the Sight & Sound poll and it's introduction and only representation of African cinema in the collection
