I'm happy for them to take as long as they need to do it right.

Eraserhead
Mulholland Dr. (because I bought the Universal DVD a day before hearing a Criterion was a possibility; see also: Persona)

plus something I will never buy, like an upgrade of Fanfan la tulipe

I'd love it if Nashville was announced, but my hopes won't be getting high for a couple of months.

We'll probably get 4 or 5 stand alone titles. With a twofer potentially from Cronenberg, Lynch or Sirk.

Well, Pathe Francere-released a remastered version, so Criterion could use that master.

I already know for sure that this is what's coming:

Carl Mayer Box Set (Scherben/Shattered/Hintertreppe/Die Strasse )
Epstein's USHER 2-discer (La Glace a trois + shorts on disc 2)
Andrei Rublev

(forgot to mention that this is only in an alternate universe...

Thief
t's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World
Mulholland Drive
Eraserhead
All that Heaven Allows dual format
Breathless dual format

I think Scanners is probably delayed to 2014 due to how quickly Map to the Stars came together and went into production. (Cuaron syndrome?)

the stupid Monday question on blu-ray.com forum thread Criterion... : there is a page for Punch Drunk Love [-o< , La Strada, The Kid among the list...

can people create a page on blu-ray.com for a blu-ray title (like on amazon.com) or only the moderators from blu-ray.com can create a page for a blu-ray title ?

I would be shocked if Criterion announced another Chaplin immediately after announcing City Lights for November...

so technically this list is probably just bogus ?
I mean everyone with an account on blu-ray.com can create a file for a new blu-ray title ?

my dearest wish list :

[-o< the Soft Skin (I want to see Framboise Dorléac NOW!!!!)
[-o< Crash Cronenberg

I won't cry if Like Someone In Love is announced since this was one of my favorite movie of the year... (I already pre-order the BR UK since - of course - my country skipped the blu-ray release...)

All these titles are legit for release, but I doubt they all get announced today.

it would make sense for them to release the Lynch movies in the same month as Persona, but what do I know?

It's a Mad World
Cronenberg Shit
Wenders boxset
Y Tu Mama Tambien
Ikiru (dual format)
Mishima (dual format)

It sure would be nice if we finally saw The Soft Skin. It has been an unusually long time since the Janus run, hasn't it (at least relative to turnaround on recent releases)?

Maybe, due to its relative obscurity, they just don't think it would be financially viable.

Never done this and I usually suck at guessing anything correctly, but what the heck:
  • It's A Madx4 World
Red River (just to make sure to maximize the overlap with MOC :( )
    World Cinema Foundation Box
    Eraserhead
    Ikiru Upgrade

It is possible, given that releasing the disc within close proximity to the theatrical release seems the best opportunity to meet sales. Regardless of the particular film's obscurity, I would expect Truffaut's name, alone, would be enough to justify its release (from a sales perspective).

I expect that the Cronenbergs are a lock, since Criterion had the iTunes versions on sale recently. I'll imagine it goes like this:

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Scanners
The Brood
The World Cinema Foundation box
Ikuru upgrade
