Any guesses what Andre de Toth's phantom page could be for? Would CC release Pitfall?

In all likelihood, the World Cinema Project-restored Two Girls on the StreetFrauBlucher wrote:Any guesses what Andre de Toth's phantom page could be for? Would CC release Pitfall?

This does make much more sense. Didn't really think Pitfall fit the criteria so to speak.Calvin wrote:In all likelihood, the World Cinema Project-restored Two Girls on the StreetFrauBlucher wrote:Any guesses what Andre de Toth's phantom page could be for? Would CC release Pitfall?

Two Girls on the Street is likely, but None Shall Escape is plausible too. Sony restored it and showed it at Berlinale last year.FrauBlucher wrote:Any guesses what Andre de Toth's phantom page could be for? Would CC release Pitfall?

As a WCF film, Two Girls on the Street is as good as confirmed for eventual release, isn't it?Jeff wrote:Two Girls on the Street is likely, but None Shall Escape is plausible too. And there goes my dream of Criterion Apparel coming out with a new line of red / green eyepatches. *sigh*

They could make a conceptual peek-a-boo bangs patch based on his most famous wife

Imagine the testimonials: "I left the house wearing my Andre de Toth eyepatch and Veronica Lake wig and walked right under a bus!"domino harvey wrote:They could make a conceptual peek-a-boo bangs patch based on his most famous wife

Presumably in anticipation of his already-confirmed Burroughs: The Movie.

Pakula=awesome awesome awesome. Please let Klute and/or Parallax View be part of a potential Warners deal.

I expect the Curtiz film should be from the potential WB deal. Most of his important output was during his Warner years. How about The Out of Towners being the Hiller film?

I wonder if Curtiz may be that mysterious pre-code, but not sure which title.

Re: The Mystery of the Phantom Web Pages
Curtiz could be a lot of things, but my guesses:
Precode: Female?
Horror: Mystery of the Wax Museum?
Epic: The Egyptian?

Re: The Mystery of the Phantom Web Pages
Incredibly excited about Pakula, hoping for Parallax just because its current transfer is so flawed. Klute would be wonderful as well, and is actually my preferred film of the two, but I don't mind the WB transfer much (still, I'd snatch up the Criterion in a heartbeat).
