Since people have already made all sorts of observations about the people in the photo, I'll go ahead and say this: I was a little taken aback at how overwhelmingly white the staff is, especially for a company based in New York City.

Congratulations for this ridicously pointless comment, criterion will now be sued by politically correct evangelicals, and put out of business.Gregory wrote:Since people have already made all sorts of observations about the people in the photo, I'll so ahead and say this: I was a little taken aback at how overwhelmingly white the staff is, especially for a company based in New York City.
I want you to know you are fully responsible, and thus we will all sue YOU for the distress you will cause us from no more criterion DVDs being available.
Isnt it wonderful, the freedom of speech allowed in America.

Okay, but I bet the white-collar population of the city isn't. :) (what are we arguing here?) In any case, the lack of racial diversity hardly seems surprising given (1) the titles they choose to put out, (2) their location, and (3) the industry they are in. I would be a little surprised if they were in Los Angeles or San Francisco, or if the collection itself were significantly more multicultural, but as it is. . .Are their employees from the same borough? Razz The city as a whole is only about 50% white.

... are you sure you are on the right board ?godardslave wrote:seriously, why the hell would anyone care what he physcially looks like. I must be missing something.tristan wrote:If Mulvaney claims he's a real person, has anyone tried e-mailing him and asking if he would identify where he is in the picture? I thought we concluded he was a fictitious person who they used to respond to emails.nycbrent wrote:For what it's worth, I saw "Mulvaney" at New York's Walter Reade theater a couple years ago (overheard him talking in line waiting to get into The Leopard). Anyway, I can't be 100% sure, but he looked a lot like the second guy down under the Gimme Shelter poster (not the scruffy looking one, but the clean-cut blonde one). Of course, that was a long time ago, but maybe...
