I like how the moment they hit 75000 everyone's suddenly posting "now what", giving them less than a minute to respond. It's like when I was in New York and noticed how everyone started honking the moment the light turned green.

If I were Criterion I'd totally back out of this on account of that. Annoying fuckers, I swear

Doh, I realized after placing my order that 3 Women is in fact in stock (also My Life as a Dog), even though it doesn't come out until Tuesday.

I almost wasn't going to jump on this, then it just occurred to me that B&N's SRP is high enough that this sale will be cheaper. Sweet.

Also, getting holiday shopping done now.

Sweet. Had a $50 gift card I was waiting to use. Finally picked up the Rohmer set and a couple others. Glad it was a lazy day at work today.

Ha, killed myself with the first Kurosawa eclipse and the new one plus finally getting Merry Christmas and The Music Room. Probably shouldn't have got the later money wise.

Had a $10 gift code they gave me a while ago (for anally pointing out that they'd switched character names for the leads in Written on the Wind), so I picked up Orpheus, Jean Vigo, and The Killing. Might have been cheaper if I'd just got the Kubrick and waited on the next sale for the others, but I can't stand paying fucking $6 shipping costs.

The shipping cost is kind of killer. I have two titles sitting in my cart and can't decide on a third, but it's so much money for shipping that I feel like I should.

I conveniently sold Algiers and If... a month or so ago. Also picked up Cul-de-Sac, The Killing, and Vigo.

What's the mark you have to hit for the loyalty thing to pay out? $500?

Completely broke but luckily had a $50 gift certificate hanging around for just such an occasion: Picked up the Koreyoshi Kurahara Eclipse set and Orphee Blu for just under five bucks!

LQ used her honorable mention gift certificate to get 3 Women on Blu for $15.92 including shipping. Much to my chagrin, as I was scrambling to find a third title to add to the cart (had Close-Up in there too initially), but I just can't justify paying $20 for the mostly feature-less Cul-De-Sac, espcially becuase I can hardly wrap my head around the film. That would be a really good release if there were scholarly supplements, I'd actually find them very useful!

This would be a good time for anyone who needs it to pick up The Children Are Watching Us. Everyone else seems to think it's out of print and is charging accordingly, but it can be yours from Criterion now for $15.

I'm still financially reeling from the July sale at B&N. Make the pain stop. ;_;

Anyways, used this to pick up remnants of my Criterion DVD list and catch up on the blu's I want.
Brand Upon The Brain!
Jeanne Dielman
Letters from Fontainhas: 3 Films by Pedro Costa
Pigs, Pimps and Prostitutes: 3 Films by Shohei Imamura
3 Women [blu]
Battle of Algiers, The [blu]
My Life as a Dog [blu]

That should do it for a while. Still got such an enormous backlog.

In-store prices aren't.

31.96 Blu Ray online Criterion. 37.23 for 2-Disc DVD (same as one blu ray) online. 39.99 in store. That's been my general experience.

$31.96 is not Criterion's SRP and the SRP is what they're discounting from in this sale.

If any of you guys are willing to help me get a cheap copy of The Children Are Watching Us please shoot me a PM, the shipping prices to Canada are ridiculous as most of you probably know.

Criterion just passed 75,000 people who like them on Facebook. For 75,000 seconds, everything is 50% off.
