I went to a screening of Sorcerer last weekend with William Friedkin in attendance for a Q&A... Now I'm mad I didn't ask him if he had anything going on with Criterion ](*,)

What is that rainbow box just above his hand at the 33 second mark? Or the red, black, and green one to the right of it?

The rainbow one is the Demy set.

The one next to the Demy set looks like Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!

Aargh, wish I knew what was going on with my TCM Shop order of Eraserhead.

Worth noting that Criterion has in stock Pandora's Box, The Killers, and Le samourai. Barnes and Noble no longer stocks those as of the last sale.

Having the exact same problem, swo. I've emailed them and have not received a reply. I ordered mine on Sept. 28th.

For what it's worth, my order status does say that it's expected to ship today.

Mine updates the expected shipping date to the current day. Every day. It's been "set to ship today" for at least a week.

EDIT: Sorry, I know this isn't the right place for this convo, I just was glad to hear someone else bring it up.

Now is probably amongst your last chances to pick up Foreign Correspondent in Dual Format (with the lovely digipack) - before it turns into a separate DVD and Blu.

Ah fuck. I just noticed this right after I placed my order, but on the Eraserhead page it says the following:

Second pressing

So now is also a great time to order Eraserhead - and avoid the hassle of trading it in through the mail (due to the defect).

Is anyone else having trouble actually placing their orders? (I realize that most of you have probably already purchased your items, but I just got off work.) Everything works just fine until I actually press the "Place Order" button, and then I'm given a screen that says there has been an application error. It's happened several times.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me both times (ended up placing a 2nd order to get Eraserhead). Everything worked fine until I hit "Place order" - then a long time later, it gave me the error page. I hit refresh and the "thank you" page immediately showed up. I still got an email confirming my order though - plus the order showed up on the Orders Page. Perhaps check your orders to see if it went through or not.

BTW, this sale works out a lot better than the BN sale- now that BN has become strict anti-coupon enforcers. No tax (except NY + KY), free shipping (over $50), plus you get the loyalty points (basically another 10% off). Far better than wasting gas + spending the $25 membership investment @BN - only to not be able to use any discounts other than generic 10% off).

Apparently it's not just a me problem. The site is temporarily down.

In case anyone was overly concerned about this, my TCM order finally shipped today. \:D/

I was sorting through some photos and found this one I took a while back for one of those Facebook contests. The theme for the contest was to create images in the style of the Criterion promo shots, though I failed to enter any of my photos in time. I thought some people here might enjoy this one of my old street's alpha cat (and resident Guillaume!)

Just posted a picture of Caleb Deschanel on Instagram, giving an interview. Being There or The Right Stuff?
