Seems I have to retract my comment about saving more: when I approached Eureka's customer service about it, Kevin Lambert offered to apply the discount by overriding the order date. No kidding, its like 89% off the £44.99 MSRP (I had my doubts about it selling very well - what with it going on sale within two months from MoC for like 15 pounds, but sheesh). I suppose most MoCs regularly fall under 10 pounds on Amazon, so these sales aren't too much of a stretch of the imagination, but they still make me think that MoC/Eureka will be selling office furniture in the next sale.

I'd say go with the Lubitsch set - as it is worth getting for the Austernprinzessin alone - which I think is one of the best films made (let alone the best by Lubitsch). The set has some weaker entries (Sumurun), but its more than made up for by Die Puppe, Ich möchte kein Mann sein and the documentary. Plus you get to hear Nick Wrigley's dad play the concertina. Not too bad for $6.

Definitely get the Lubitsch set!! Minkin has already pointed out the great films in this set, and the others are at least interesting. At that price, it's a steal.

But I'm disappointed to hear that for the moment this is the last of these special deals, as I already have all the films among them so far that would interest me. Living in the euro zone, buying discs from the UK and the USA has now become practically impossible 'thanks' to the European Central Bank and its inflation policy and the resulting ridiculous exchange rate, so unfortunately no more MoC or CC purchases for me at the normal price in the foreseeable future, with the sole exception of CC releasing the restored Apu Trilogy (for which I'd give my last shirt). I would have liked to see the Yamanaka set discounted, for example, but surprisingly it must have sold relatively well so that it didn't appear in any of these sales. Which is of course a good thing, basically. Just not for me....

Worth every penny for the WCF Vol 1 set. Works out a fiver a film, which is more than worth it considering they're films you'd probably never see elsewhere.

I went for Van Gogh, There's Always Tomorrow and Edvard Munch. There are a few more I'm vaguely interested in, but not sure they warrant a purchase (plus I've now got 80 MoC blu-rays, 30 MoC DVDs, and 10-15 other Eureka titles to go through).

I got the Serpico steelbook last week (wasn't the standard keepcase edition for sale for even less this week?) and Van Gogh this week and was reminded again how utterly shit the MoC cover for the Pialat is (and the green colour for the spine and back, urgh!), especially compared to the poster they chose for the booklet cover.

Those sales won't be happening again for quite a while but if the likes of Thief of Bagdad are included this time next year, it'll be worth the wait.
