I have similar issues with a variety of foods, some of them to the point where it vaguely revolts me to see the name of the food typed out- but suffice it to say that one scene in Lady and the Tramp made me ill. Someone should start a website listing every conceivable element of every movie that anyone could be triggered by.NABOB OF NOWHERE wrote:Despite my irish heritage I have a huge aversion to potatoes bordering on the phobic, which brings incredulity from fellow diners and lips to lemon, eyes to heaven grimacing from waiters. Put it down as another of the psychic scars inflicted by the UK boarding school system.

My parents were murdered by carrots. I still enjoy eating them though.

Alas, all the attention that's been focused on the horrors of violent movies, and yet no one warned us about copycat crimes inspired by Shoot 'Em Up.swo17 wrote:My parents were murdered by carrots. I still enjoy eating them though.

Up there now: a priceless photo of Agnes Varda hanging with Manoel de Oliveira in Portugal, plus Nuri Bilge Ceylan on the set of ANATOLIA, and Hong Sangsoo in a mirror.

Re: Cinema Guild
OK, I really don't understand what's going on here; today I tried to call 1-800-723-5522 (Cinema Guild's office number, for placing an international order), and just like before, I did not get connected. The operator says "The number you have dialed is not available in your area at this time." I live in Canada. The first time I tried to call was when you guys had your big sale on a couple of months ago; same problem. Is there an alternative number I can reach Cinema Guild at?

Re: Cinema Guild
The 800 number only works in the U.S.. But you can always reach us on our main number, 212-685-6242.
We are releasing THE DAY HE ARRIVES theatrically. It actually opens in NY next Friday, April 20, and will play in other cities throughout the spring and summer. Home Video release will probably be late 2012.

Re: Cinema Guild
Really appreciate the short film. Does that make it so that all of Tarr's films are available on DVD?

I would have put this movie at the very top of a 'Films domino should really avoid' list, but I'd definitely slow down to see the aftermath of that particular collision, so go for it!domino harvey wrote:I'm no Tarr fan so I had no interest in checking this out, but I must admit a desire to sit through this!cinemaguild wrote:* Audio Commentary by film critic Jonathan Rosenbaum

This is really going to be an incredible release! I hope it sells enough to continue justifying this amount of effort in future titles,
