The script itself I found rather lacking, it's more a fever dream of an imagined Nixon than anything that seems an accurate portrayal.

Except, 30 years later, it has come out that most of it was true. The script was groundbreaking in its scholarship at the time.

It probably doesn't play nearly as shocking as it might have now, either. Imagine if Twitter was around in 1968, and Nixon was as glued to it as Trump.
